Support for Ukraine

Given the recent meeting in the Oval Office between Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelensky, President Trump and Vice President Vance these are incredibly challenging times for the people of Ukraine and in particular for the people in our Sister City, Kharkiv.

We want what the people of Ukraine want: an end to the war and security guarantees for their future. The path forward is not clear and there are questions to be answered:

  • How will the war end if the United States withdraws its support for Ukraine?
  • Why would our country’s president willingly weaken or even pull out of NATO?
  • Why does the US President appear to favor a country which invaded another?

We the members of St. Francis deSales Parish of Walnut Hills in Cincinnati believe the Ukrainian people deserve our full support. The “Big Treaty” signed in 1997 between Ukraine and Russia must be restored and honored.

Now is the time to let our representatives in Congress know that we support the people of Ukraine in their desire for a fair, just, and lasting peace accompanied by the necessary security guarantees for their territorial sovereignty and future safety.
